NEW TO Camping - Campers Check List

Camping is proving more and more popular in NZ
It has been suggested by some of our NEW to camping Guests that a Checklist would be great. So here are some of our suggestions you may want to add to them yourselves or you may want to email us to suggest something else that needs to be added.... Comments are welcome.
- Tent, Poles and Pegs (Yes... sometimes poles & pegs have been forgotten)
- Hammer
- Clothes Horse & Pegs
- Torches or Light
- Chilly Bin or Fridge if you have powered site
- Kitchen cooking stuff (crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and utensils, electric frypan for use in kitchens)
- Jug & Toaster, electric frypan if you have powered site
- Teatowels & Dishwash liquid
- Bedding - Airbeds, mattress, cot, bunk etc plus sleeping bags or duvets/sheets
- Clothes for family - bring something warm for night as it can be chilly sometimes.
- Towels (Shower & Swimming - Pool & Lake)
- Togs, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats
- First Aid Kit
- Sun & Rain umbrellas - (Gazebo?)
- Gas BBQ (not charcoal as Taupo usually has a fire ban) We do have 3 gas BBQ areas around resort but some people like to bring their own especially around Christmas/January when the resort is very busy.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- To connect to power -
For Tent connection you must have an RCD Power Cord.
The RCD Power cord must have caravan male plug on one end and a female all weather 3 point plug on the other end which goes inside your tent.
You can purchase these RCD Power Leads from electrical wholesalers like Corys, Mitre10, Bunnings etc.
Some of the cheaper plugs have a lower IP rating - higher IP ratings are safer and will cost a bit more.
- For Caravan connection you must have a current ewof (electrical warrant of fitness)
